Strengthening its sales record lead and beefing up its scooter lineup, Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) officially launched the all-new Honda PCX 160. Among the list of improvements is the now more potent powerplant which now sports a 4-valve cylinder head.
“At Honda Philippines, we want to impact the lives of all Filipinos with our motorcycles. We believe The All-New PCX160 will do just that. After all, what we want is to contribute to the creation of a better, new normal,” HPI President Susumu Mitsuishi said.
One of the main updates with the all-new Honda PCX 160 is its new engine with “eSP+ or Enhanced Smart Power Plus.” With the new 157cc 4-valve, SOHC, liquid-cooled engine, riding performance has been improved along with the increased engine displacement. The new mill is rated at 11.8kW@ 8,500rpm while still being highly efficient at 45.1 Km/L fuel consumption.
Looks have been improved as well with the PCX 160’s new LED headlight design with position light along with new taillight design. Handling and comfort were also improved with its bigger tubeless tires wrapping the new wheel design. The PCX 160 still utilizes twin shock rear suspension system for smooth rides.
The all-new Honda PCX 160 also sports a new and wider digital instrument panel for improved information visibility. For convenience, the USB type power outlet has been upgraded as well. It also comes with a 30-liter capacity utility box for storage space and an 8-liter fuel tank capacity for longer travels without needing to fill up. The latest PCX still comes with Idling Stop System for better fuel efficiency as well as the Smart Key with anti-theft alarm and answer back system for security.
Ensuring safety, the all-new PCX 160 is available in two brake variants, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) type and the Combi-Brake System (CBS) type. Both variants are equipped with front and rear disc brakes.
The ABS variant is equipped with a Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). The ABS and HSTC are perfectly combined to ensure rider’s safety: HSTC controls safety on wheel traction, while ABS provides safety rebound to prevent braking lock-up. The all-new PCX160 ABS variant comes in two premium colors choose from, namely, the Asteroid Black Metallic and the Pearl Fadeless White.
The CBS variant serves as the base model of the all-new PCX 160 and is available in two premium color variants Matte Dim Gray Metallic and Pearl Fadeless White.
