Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has confirmed that the current-generation Civic Type R is taking its final lap in the country. This marks the end of an era for one of the most iconic performance cars to have ever graced local roads.
In light of this, HCPI is offering a final chance for customers to own the remaining units of the 2025 model Civic Type R. While the high-performance hatchback is stepping away, the brand underscores that its spirit and legacy will continue to inspire both fans and future models.

We are confident that this model’s legacy will inspire us as our model range continues to evolve, especially our current and upcoming models that will always give our customers the familiar, fun-to-drive spirit of Honda,” said HCPI President Rie Miyake.
Looking back, the Civic Type R has always been more than just a car – it has been a showcase of Honda’s pursuit of performance and engineering excellence. From the legendary EK9 to the current FL5, each generation pushed the boundaries of what front-wheel drive could achieve.
The Civic Type R officially made its Philippine debut in 2017 with the FK8, launched during that year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). With only 100 units initially brought in to test the market, demand was overwhelming. All were spoken for in under 48 hours.
In 2021, the Philippine FK8 received updates that included Honda SENSING driver-assist technology, upgraded brakes, and new color choices. This evolution set the stage for the arrival of the FL5 in 2024, which continued the Type R’s impact on local car culture.
As the final units of the 2025 Civic Type R FL5 make their way to Honda dealerships, HCPI encourages interested buyers to secure theirs while they still can.
