GrabPH, MOVE IT help Typhoon Kristine-hit communities in Cavite & Laguna

Grab Philippines, in partnership with MOVE IT, has distributed relief packages to over 1,000 families, including drivers and local residents in areas of Cavite and Laguna heavily affected by Tropical Storm Kristine. Each package contained essential supplies, including rice, canned goods, and hygiene products.

In addition to relief distribution, both Grab and MOVE IT have implemented comprehensive calamity-assistance programs designed to support driver- and delivery-partners in times of need. Through GrabCares and MOVE IT Malasakit, affected partners can access financial and in-kind assistance through a streamlined application process available on their driver app.

“Whenever disasters strike, many of us delivery partners who are less affected join Grab’s relief efforts as volunteers. Through our community channels, we quickly identify homes in need of immediate assistance and relay this information to Grab to help expedite response efforts,” said Perpe Mahinay Disoacido Jr. of Grab Ugnayan Advocates, a community of Grab delivery-partners.

MOVE IT community leader Aguinaldo Larioso praised the strong spirit of bayanihan among their riders. “We’re grateful to MOVE IT and Grab for the support they extend to our community. Many riders chose to forgo trips to help those in need, showing true solidarity. Bayanihan is alive and well in MOVE IT and Grab.”
