ACMobility, a leading electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider in the Philippines, has unveiled its latest charging hub at the U.P. Town Center in Quezon City. This development highlights the city’s role as a progressive advocate for sustainability in Metro Manila and underscores ACMobility’s mission to advance electric mobility in urban communities.
Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility, expressed excitement about the expansion. “We are thrilled to deepen our commitment to sustainability by establishing a presence at U.P. Town Center. This bustling hub is a convergence point for students, professionals, and commuters in the heart of Quezon City. With the rising adoption of electric vehicles in the Philippines, our goal is to make EV charging accessible and convenient for everyone. This station is a significant milestone in scaling the country’s charging infrastructure and accelerating the transition to cleaner, greener mobility options.”

Located along Katipunan Avenue, the U.P. Town Center charging hub is strategically situated near major universities, including the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, and Miriam College. Its accessibility to students, faculty, and commuters makes it an ideal site to promote EV adoption and sustainable transportation. The station accommodates six vehicle slots and features a 120 kW DC fast charger and four AC chargers (two 22 kW and two 7 kW). This setup supports a range of EVs, from private vehicles to public utility vehicles like e-jeepneys and electric shuttles, reflecting ACMobility’s dedication to inclusive and sustainable mobility solutions.
The launch of the U.P. Town Center Charging Hub underscores ACMobility’s commitment to forging partnerships with public and private stakeholders, including Meralco, the Quezon City local government, and the University of the Philippines. These collaborations aim to strengthen the EV infrastructure nationwide and support the transition to an electrified transportation system. As ACMobility’s first project with Meralco, the U.P. Town Center hub represents a cornerstone in their joint efforts to expand the network of EV charging stations across the Philippines.
Adding a unique artistic dimension, the hub features a vibrant mural designed by Professor Toym Imao and students from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts. This masterpiece captures the spirit of innovation and progress, celebrating both the area’s rich history and the transformative power of sustainable mobility. The mural’s dynamic design reflects the station’s advanced, eco-friendly technology and user-friendly features, emphasizing ACMobility’s vision for a sustainable future.

The U.P. Town Center Charging Hub marks a significant step in ACMobility’s ambitious plan to establish over 200 charging points across approximately 100 locations nationwide by the end of 2024. This growing network aims to ensure that EV owners throughout the Philippines have access to reliable and convenient charging options, encouraging the broader adoption of electric vehicles.
Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility, highlighted the importance of this collaboration with Quezon City, a leader in sustainability efforts in Metro Manila. “Quezon City has consistently demonstrated its commitment to cleaner and greener initiatives, from utilizing solar power at City Hall to embracing electrified mobility. We are proud to contribute to these efforts by making electric mobility more accessible and driving meaningful change for the city.”
