Grab Philippines is spreading the joy of the holiday season by awarding full-ride college scholarships to six exceptional freshmen students through its GrabScholar program. Hailing from diverse regions of the Philippines, these talented individuals are set to pursue degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Business, preparing to become future leaders and innovators.
The scholarship program goes beyond tuition coverage. Scholars receive a monthly stipend for living expenses, an annual allowance for school supplies, and internship opportunities with Grab Philippines, equipping them with essential support to achieve their professional goals.
Highlighted recipients of this life-changing opportunity include:
- Chloe Cipriano, pursuing Information Technology at PHINMA Saint Jude College Manila, dreams of a career in cybersecurity or software development. Her scholarship significantly eases her family’s financial burdens, offering a chance to focus entirely on her studies.
- Genille Gonzales, studying Business Administration with a Major in Marketing Management at National University – Fairview, is inspired by her retired accountant aunt to pursue a career in public service. She is equally dedicated to supporting her father, a MOVE IT rider-partner, in providing for their family.
- Knash Alsonado, enrolled in Legal Management at the University of the East, aims to become a lawyer or paralegal. Her scholarship alleviates financial challenges, allowing her to focus on preparing for law school and supporting her father, a GrabCar driver-partner.
These scholars embody the resilience and determination to overcome obstacles, including financial hardships and family health issues. Their journeys align with the mission of GrabScholar—to empower students from underprivileged backgrounds by removing financial barriers to education.
“Our GrabScholars inspire us,” said Ronald Roda, Country Head of Grab Philippines. “Their stories remind us that opportunity, coupled with hard work and determination, can transform lives. GrabScholar is our commitment to nurturing the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.”

With this year’s addition, the GrabScholar program now supports 18 college students, along with bursary assistance for 300 K-12 students and career acceleration pathways for 150 aspiring BPO professionals. As the holidays approach, these scholars unwrap more than presents—they unwrap hope, opportunity, and a brighter future.
