Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), the company behind Caltex fuels and lubricants, continues its commitment to sustainable workforce development by partnering with the AmCham Foundation Philippines (ACFPI) to support aspiring automotive professionals. The initiative recently celebrated the graduation of 28 scholars from the AmCham Foundation Scholarship Program, marking a significant milestone in the drive to equip young Filipinos with technical expertise.
The scholars completed a 15-month Automobile Mechanics training course at Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati, earning TESDA certification. As part of the program, they also participated in a four-month internship at Caltex-branded workshops through the Caltex Mechanics Pool initiative, gaining valuable hands-on experience.
“This collaboration with Chevron is a testament to how private-sector partnerships can create meaningful impact,” said Daisy Palor, Project Manager at AmCham Foundation Philippines. “Graduation is not the end of their journey, but a new beginning. We will continue to support them as they take the next steps in their careers, ensuring they contribute to their communities and the industry at large.”
The scholars, many of whom overcame financial hardships, expressed their heartfelt appreciation. Gold and Exemplary Conduct Awardee Karlito Luis Manuel shared, “This program has been life-changing. Chevron’s generosity has inspired me to work even harder, and I dream of one day supporting future scholars just as I was given this chance.”
Jhon Keven Eugenio, recipient of the Exemplary Conduct, Perfect Attendance, and Volunteerism Awards, added, “This scholarship was more than financial aid—it was a stepping stone to my future. I am deeply grateful to Chevron for giving me the opportunity to study and complete my training at Don Bosco.”
Chevron Philippines Inc. remains steadfast in its mission to drive progress through education and industry development. “We are proud to be part of this program, working hand-in-hand with AmCham Foundation Philippines to empower young talents,” said Raissa Bautista, Senior Corporate Affairs Manager at Chevron Philippines Inc. “We hope our scholars will not only excel in their careers but also inspire future batches to pursue technical excellence.”
With initiatives like these, Chevron continues to fuel dreams, create opportunities, and shape the future of the automotive industry in the Philippines.
