Lotus Robotics, the self-driving tech unit of Lotus, has joined forces with CaoCao Mobility, a ride-hailing platform backed by Geely Holding, to launch China’s first fully integrated autonomous driving system.
Following successful real-world trials in Suzhou and Hangzhou—where the self-driving technology covered 13,545 km without human intervention—this partnership marks a major step toward making autonomous ride-hailing a reality.
Lotus Robotics’ autonomous driving solutions include:
- ROBO Soul: A software stack enabling up to Level 4 autonomy, already used in Lotus’ Eletre and Emeya models.
- ROBO Galaxy: A cloud-based system optimizing fleet management and data analysis.
- ROBO Matrix: An AI-driven safety solution that enhances remote monitoring and control.
Recent tech advancements include map-free urban navigation (NOA) and high-precision lane selection, with global deployment set for Q4 2025, pending regulatory approvals.
CaoCao Mobility, a leading ride-hailing provider, operates in 57 Chinese cities, serving over 35,000 businesses and seven million professionals.
With global ambitions, Lotus Robotics is also exploring Robotaxi deployment in the Middle East in partnership with Aramco Digital, while leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) to scale its data-driven capabilities worldwide.
This collaboration represents a significant milestone in the evolution of safe, efficient, and intelligent mobility solutions worldwide.
