Chevron is once again stepping up for education as a platinum sponsor of the American Chamber Foundation Philippines’ (AmCham) 11th ScholaCOLORun, an annual fun run that turns every stride into a step closer to a brighter future for underprivileged Filipino students.
Held at Liwasang Ulalim in Pasay City, this year’s event brought together 3,458 participants—290 of whom were Chevron employees from Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) and Chevron Holdings Inc. (CHI). The proceeds will help provide tuition support, allowances, and career guidance to AmCham’s 109 current scholars.
Chevron’s partnership with AmCham spans over 15 years, supporting a shared vision of accessible, quality education for all. Together, they’ve already helped more than 2,400 students pursue their academic goals.
AmCham President Edwin Feist recounted the foundation’s beginnings, where education was seen as a powerful tool against poverty. “We sponsor students so they can focus on their studies, not their finances,” he shared. “Chevron understood the importance of this mission early on and became a steadfast ally.”
CHI General Manager Ethan Flowers echoed this sentiment. “We believe education opens doors. At Chevron, it’s not just a value—it’s essential to the work we do. We’re proud to help Filipino students build their future.”
Chevron’s enthusiastic turnout highlighted the company’s culture of community involvement and employee wellness. “It’s amazing to see our team show up not just for their health, but also for the students we support,” said Flowers.

For employees like Emil Bertolano and Mico Fetalvero, the run is personal. Bertolano, a four-time participant, sees it as an opportunity to help while staying fit. “Healthy ka na, nakatulong ka pa,” he said. Fetalvero added that such efforts help address resource shortages in public schools: “Many schools lack supplies, and the burden falls on teachers and students. Events like this make a difference.”
