As gig work becomes an essential part of the livelihood of millions of Filipinos, Grab Philippines and its partner MOVE IT held the Saludo Partner Appreciation Concert to honor the vital contributions of their platform communities. The event also underscored the companies’ shared vision for a fairer and more resilient future of work.
For over ten years, Grab has provided a platform for thousands of Filipinos to earn through flexible work. More than a service provider, the company continues to lead efforts in promoting responsible gig work — marked by worker protections, skills development, and inclusive growth.
“We believe gig work should be a viable and dignified source of income,” said Ronald Roda, Country Head of Grab Philippines. “As the economy transforms, it’s our role to ensure that this form of work remains fair, protected, and progressive. We are proud not just of what we’ve built, but of the lives that have been improved through our platform.”
From on-trip insurance to government-mandated benefits and targeted livelihood programs, Grab is designing its platform with Filipino workers in mind. The company has introduced initiatives like customized life insurance, safety funds, and digital tools such as the AI Merchant Assistant to help small businesses operate more efficiently and sustainably.
The Saludo Concert brought together thousands of partners in a show of solidarity and gratitude. Performances by top Filipino artists served as a reminder that behind the app are real people — workers who deliver, drive, and serve communities daily.

Wayne Jacinto, General Manager of MOVE IT, highlighted the company’s role in formalizing the motorcycle taxi sector. “We are transforming informal work into structured opportunity. That begins with how we treat our rider-partners — as professionals who deserve respect, protection, and growth,” Jacinto noted.
As public conversation around worker protections and labor rights continues, both Grab and MOVE IT remain committed to building a locally informed gig work model. Their focus is not only on expanding services, but on creating systems that prioritize the well-being and progress of Filipino workers.
“The future of work in the Philippines should be built with empathy and purpose,” Roda said in closing. “We are committed to leading that future — alongside our partners, for the benefit of all.”
