Chevrolet Philippines has been teasing the arrival of a new model for some time, and now it’s finally here. Through its official local distributor, Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the brand has unleashed its newest and grooviest family member – the all-new Chevrolet Groove.
Set to take on the subcompact SUV segment, the Chevrolet Groove offers style, comfort, and a list of features that match its introductory price of P1,156,000.
On the outside, the Groove carries a composed yet energetic look. Its angular panels, sharp creases, black-painted details, and well-proportioned stance give it a subtle but confident presence.
Up front, sharp LED headlights flank a large grille. A chrome strip runs across the grille, connecting the headlight housings for a balanced touch. The lower bumper gets a blacked-out garnish with a wide air intake. Along the sides, black trims frame the two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/55 R17 tires. Look closer, and you’ll spot small touches like the Groove badge on the front doors and the black-painted C-pillar.
The rear features LED tail lights, black bumper trim, and twin exhausts. While the dual pipes are more for style than function, they do hint at the engine under the hood; a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline motor with 150 hp and 255 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT.
Inside, the Chevrolet Groove is fitted with leather seats for five, with the driver getting a power-adjustable seat. A 7-inch information display sits in front of the driver, while a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay takes center stage. You also get a 6-speaker sound system, a sunroof, and a 12-volt outlet in the front center armrest.
Safety is well covered with anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, stability control, and traction control. The Groove also comes with automatic high beams, plus advanced driver assistance features such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.
With its mix of style, tech, and safety, the Chevrolet Groove’s introductory price feels like a solid deal. But this price is only available for a limited time. Once the promo ends, the price will be P1,268,000 – a difference of P112,000 worth considering if you’re eyeing one.
