GAC Motor Philippines, through its official distributor Astara, is expanding its dealer footprint in Mindanao once more. This time, the Chinese carmaker is setting its sights on Tagum City, which will soon be home to GAC’s third location in Davao and its 35th dealership in the country.

The upcoming facility will rise in Barangay Libertad, Canocotan, and will be operated by Davao Bonifacio Motor Inc. (DBMI), the same group behind GAC’s Davao City branch. The Tagum outlet is targeted to open by the third quarter of 2026. According to Astara, the new site is intended to strengthen GAC’s presence in Davao, giving customers in the region and nearby areas, including General Santos, easier access to its vehicles and services.

Once completed, GAC Tagum will house a 400 sqm showroom and a 1,000 sqm service area. It will operate as a 3S dealership, offering vehicle sales, service, and spare parts support, while following GAC Motor’s global showroom and service standards.

The groundbreaking ceremony gathered key executives from both DBMI and Astara, including DBMI President David Ross Bonifacio, Dealer Principals Andri Ross Recto, Dr. Justine Marie Lucero, and Adriana Recto, along with Astara Philippines representatives.

Luis Torres, Country Manager of Astara Philippines, said, “We’re pleased to break ground in yet another progressive location with our trusted partner, Davao Bonifacio Motor Inc. As we continue to expand across the country, our mission remains the same—to bring world-class mobility solutions closer to more Filipino communities through innovation, excellence, and meaningful partnerships.”

GAC Motor Philippines currently offers a range of models that include the Empow sedan, Emzoom crossover, Emkoo compact SUV, and the GS8 mid-size SUV. Its multipurpose vehicle lineup features the M6 Pro and M8, while the recently launched Emkoo Hybrid adds a hybrid option to the mix. All models are backed by a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first, along with 24/7 emergency roadside assistance for the first year.
