Falken Tire Philippines has introduced a new warranty program designed to cover tire damage caused by common road hazards, expanding protection beyond standard manufacturing defect coverage.
Rolled out through exclusive distributor JM Far East, Inc., the Road Hazard Ready (RHR) program applies to eligible passenger, SUV/4×4, and van/light truck (PLT) tires purchased starting April 20, 2026.
The program covers unrepairable tire damage resulting from road hazards, including deep punctures that cannot be repaired, tread or sidewall cuts exposing internal cords, impact damage from potholes or uneven pavement, and sidewall damage caused by road contact. Runflat damage may also be covered, subject to inspection. Approved claims are eligible for a one-to-one replacement using the same tire model or the closest available equivalent.
Coverage is valid for up to 12 months from the date of purchase or until the tire reaches 5mm tread depth, whichever comes first.
To qualify, tires must be brand new, locally distributed by JM Far East, and purchased from authorized Falken dealers, sub-dealers, or official online stores. The program requires a minimum purchase of two tires in a single transaction, with both units of the same size and intended for installation on the same vehicle.
Eligible product lines include Sincera, Ziex, Azenis FK510 series, Azenis FK520L, Wildpeak, and Linam. Track-oriented models such as the Azenis RT660 and RT615K+ are excluded from coverage.
Customers must register their purchase within seven days through the official RHR portal to activate the program. Required documents include the official receipt or sales invoice, dealer information, tire specifications and DOT markings, and clear photos of the vehicle and tires. Failure to register within the prescribed period will result in the loss of RHR coverage, although the tires will remain covered under Falken’s standard five-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Eligibility is also based on the tire’s date of manufacture. Tires produced between 2017 and 2026 qualify for the program. For tires up to six years from manufacture, coverage includes one year of Road Hazard Ready protection alongside the standard warranty, followed by manufacturing defect coverage from years two to five. Tires aged seven to nine years are eligible for one year of combined RHR and standard warranty coverage.
The program excludes repairable punctures, cosmetic damage, misuse such as racing, drifting, or off-road driving, improper installation or maintenance, and normal wear and tear. It also does not cover damage caused by floods, fire, or collisions, and is not applicable to tires used in taxis, car rental services, original equipment fitments, or spare tires.
Claims are filed online and supported by photo and video documentation, followed by a live technical inspection via video call. Registration confirmation typically takes one to two business days, while claim approvals are processed within two to four business days. Replacement timelines vary by location, with availability estimated at a minimum of five days in Metro Manila, seven days in Luzon, and up to 14 days in Visayas and Mindanao.
Each approved claim is limited to one replacement per tire.
