The Department of Tourism (DOT) has entered into a partnership with Grab Philippines to boost food travel and strengthen connectivity across the country. Through a recently signed agreement, the DOT has formally named the super app as its Digital Tourism Partner.
This collaboration is anchored on two priorities: highlighting Philippine gastronomy as a tourism driver and improving mobility between gateway hubs and regional cities. By tapping into Grab Philippines’s technology and wide user base, DOT hopes to modernize how both locals and tourists experience travel and dining.
On the gastronomy front, Grab Philippines will back DOT’s campaign with programs designed to bring local food culture closer to travelers. Grab Dine Out, for instance, offers exclusive dine-in discounts at well-loved and under-the-radar restaurants. GrabFood 5-Star Eats, a community-driven food guide, spotlights homegrown establishments. Meanwhile, GrabFood For One provides solo meal options starting at P150 with free delivery, opening access to authentic flavors for travelers who are budget-conscious.
The partnership also looks at easing mobility between destinations. Grab Philippines’ Advanced Booking feature allows users to schedule airport rides up to 90 days ahead, now covering major airports in Metro Manila, Bohol, Cebu, and Davao. Complementing this, GrabCar continues to offer safe 4- and 6-seater rides within and around cities, ensuring smoother transfers for travelers.

“This partnership with Grab underscores our commitment to harnessing digital platforms to make Philippine tourism more inclusive, accessible, and future-ready. By smoothly integrating mobility and gastronomy into the travel experience, we are not only enriching how travelers discover our country, but also opening greater opportunities for small businesses and local communities that form the backbone of our tourism value chain,” said DOT Assistant Secretary for Tourism Digitalization and Resource Generation, Sharlene Zabala-Batin.
For Grab Philippines, the collaboration is an extension of its role in enhancing the way people move and explore. “At Grab, our suite of safe, reliable, and convenient services is reshaping how people explore the destinations they visit—making it easier for travelers to reach both cultural highlights and hidden gems,” shared CJ Lacsican, Grab Philippines Vice President for Cities.
