Aston Martin Redefines Connected Driving Experience with New Apple CarPlay Ultra

Aston Martin has become the first carmaker in the world to offer Apple CarPlay Ultra, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of the connected car experience. This new integration brings together the cutting-edge performance of Aston Martin with the intuitive digital ecosystem of the iPhone, creating a refined and immersive in-car environment.

CarPlay Ultra represents the next generation of Apple’s in-vehicle platform, displaying real-time information across both the infotainment screen and instrument cluster. With customisable themes, layouts, and full-screen capabilities for maps and media, drivers are empowered to personalise their cockpit in line with Aston Martin’s luxury and performance ethos. CarPlay Ultra debuts on the DBX and the core sportscar line-up, including the DB12, with standard availability on all new orders in the United States and Canada starting today. It will also be offered as a software update for compatible models in the coming weeks.

“Our collaboration with Apple and the launch of CarPlay Ultra reflect Aston Martin’s focus on delivering world-class innovation that enhances the driving experience,” said Adrian Hallmark, CEO of Aston Martin. “Beyond engineering and design, we are redefining what luxury performance means in a connected world.”

Bob Borchers, Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing at Apple, noted: “CarPlay Ultra is a major leap forward in reimagining how people use their iPhone in the car. It’s about deeper integration, better safety, and an interface that feels native to both the vehicle and the driver. We’re thrilled to begin this rollout with Aston Martin.”

CarPlay Ultra brings control over key vehicle functions—such as climate, media, and radio—through a mix of touchscreen, physical buttons, and voice commands via Siri. iPhone widgets are now compatible with Aston Martin’s 10.25” Pure Black display, and drivers can customise instrument cluster themes and layouts to reflect their preferences.

This advancement follows the 2023 introduction of Aston Martin’s in-house developed infotainment system, which first appeared on the DB12. The system merges digital sophistication with traditional craftsmanship, balancing capacitive touchscreen responsiveness with tactile buttons for essential controls.

The Apple CarPlay Ultra will be available in global markets within the next year and is compatible with iPhone 12 and later devices running iOS 18.54 and newer.
