BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility took a major step forward in expanding electric mobility in southern Philippines with the successful BYD Tech Tour held in Cagayan de Oro City from June 27 to 29. The initiative brought the latest in electric vehicle technology to the region, reflecting the brands’ shared commitment to sustainable, future-ready transportation.
Participants experienced BYD’s full EV lineup through live demonstrations, technology showcases, and hands-on test drives. Vehicles featured during the event included the Seal 5 DM-i, Sealion 6 DM-i, eMax 7, Shark 6 DMO, and the newly launched Sealion 5 DM-i — which made its Mindanao debut during the tour.
“The Tech Tour helps bring electric mobility closer to Filipinos. It’s a platform for discovery, and it reinforces BYD’s role as a global leader in new energy vehicles,” said Adam Hu, BYD Philippines Country Head.
The event comes on the heels of BYD and ACMobility’s dealership expansion efforts in the south, following the opening of BYD Davao in 2023. It also supports ACMobility’s broader Philippine EV Spine initiative, which aims to establish a seamless nationwide EV charging network.
To date, ACMobility has installed over 230 charging points across 100 locations in the Philippines. In Mindanao alone, nine charging sites are already operational, with additional sites slated to go live within the year. These efforts are supported by digital solutions through Evro, allowing EV users to locate chargers, monitor sessions, and process payments via a single app.

The CDO Tech Tour concluded with strong interest from residents, especially with the arrival of the BYD Sealion 5 DM-i. The model offers a compelling mix of range, performance, and compact dimensions — ideal for urban dwellers seeking both innovation and practicality.
