BYD Cars Philippines and Grab Philippines have officially kicked off their partnership to bring more eco-friendly vehicles to the streets. Their first big move? The BYD Grab Day Caravan, held at the BYD Global City showroom last June.
This partnership aims to make electric and hybrid cars more accessible to GrabCar drivers, helping them save money on fuel and maintenance while offering riders a smoother, greener ride. With BYD’s New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), drivers can save up to 40% on costs compared to using regular gas-powered cars.
“This collaboration helps bring electric mobility to more Filipinos,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “It’s a step toward building a cleaner, more efficient transportation system.”
One of the stars of the event was the BYD Seal 5 DM-i Dynamic — a high-tech sedan designed for daily driving needs. It can go up to 50 km on electric power alone and has a total range of over 1,100 km when its hybrid engine kicks in. With its roomy interior, low running costs, and once-a-year preventive maintenance, it’s a smart choice for GrabCar drivers.
“This event is a great way for drivers to see what BYD vehicles can offer,” said Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD Philippines. “The Seal 5 DM-i Dynamic delivers the efficiency and reliability that ride-hailing drivers need.”
GrabCar driver-partners at the event got to test drive the car, check out its features, and even apply for exclusive financing offers on the spot. More partner banks are expected to join in as the program grows.

“This is good news for both drivers and passengers,” said Ronald Roda, Grab Philippines Managing Director. “With BYD’s electrified cars, our driver-partners can earn more, spend less, and do their part for the environment.”
After its launch in Taguig, the BYD Grab Day Caravan will head to other cities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao later this year. The goal is to bring these green mobility solutions closer to more drivers and passengers nationwide.
