Farmers in Burgos, Ilocos Sur, are set to benefit from improved transportation and logistics as Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), together with HMEN Motors – FUSO Pangasinan, turned over 27 brand-new FUSO Canter FE73 Drop-side trucks to the local government unit (LGU) on February 15, 2025. The event was a highlight of the town’s annual Farmer’s Day celebration, recognizing the hard work and dedication of local farmers who drive the region’s agricultural success.
These trucks will be distributed across the town’s 26 barangays, with one additional unit dedicated to municipal use. Designed to enhance agricultural productivity, the Canter FE73 will serve as a vital transport solution, helping farmers move their produce and equipment efficiently.
Built for durability and performance, the FUSO Canter FE73 features a 4P10-WAT2 Common Rail Turbocharged Intercooled Diesel engine, delivering 131 PS and 350 N-m of torque. Its 4,490 kg gross vehicle weight (GVW) capacity ensures reliable and capable transport for rice, vegetables, and other farm products. Additionally, the drop-side bodies, which meet FUSO’s high-quality standards, provide ease of loading and unloading for everyday farm operations.
“We are honored to support Burgos’ farmers by providing transport solutions that will help strengthen their livelihoods,” said Mr. Yosuke Nishi, President & CEO of Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation. “Agriculture is the backbone of many local economies, and we remain committed to delivering vehicles that empower communities and drive progress. Ayos, Burgos!”
