Grab Philippines has officially begun the development of the Grab Asenso Center in Marikina City, a 1.5-hectare hub dedicated to supporting its expanding community of driver-, rider-, and merchant-partners, including MOVE IT motorcycle taxi riders. The innovative facility will provide onboarding, skills training, road safety assessments, and digital capacity-building programs—establishing a solid foundation for more inclusive digital economic growth in the Philippines.

The Grab Asenso Center embodies Grab’s mission to drive inclusive growth and sustainable livelihoods through technology and innovation. It reinforces the company’s commitment to improving professional development and welfare across its ecosystem, encompassing services such as Grab’s ride-hailing, food delivery, and logistics platforms.

During the ceremonial groundbreaking, Grab Philippines Country Head Ronald Roda highlighted the transformative impact of the center.

“For over 13 years, Grab has been more than a platform for economic activity—it has been a driver of meaningful impact,” Roda remarked. “The Grab Asenso Center will ensure our partners—whether drivers, riders, or merchants—are prepared to succeed in today’s digital-first economy. This facility is a testament to our commitment to uplift communities and empower everyday entrepreneurs.”

The initiative also advances Grab’s pledge to create 500,000 livelihood opportunities in the Philippines. The Grab Asenso Center will play a pivotal role in sustaining this momentum by addressing the evolving needs of Grab and MOVE IT partners.

Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista commended the Grab Asenso Center as a model for public-private collaboration in modernizing transportation and livelihoods.

“App-based platforms like Grab are key drivers of inclusive growth, bridging technology and opportunity,” Secretary Bautista said. “The Grab Asenso Center complements our efforts to modernize mobility while creating dignified and sustainable livelihoods for transport workers. We look forward to its impact on building a safer, more professional transportation network.”

Slated to open by Q1 2025, the Grab Asenso Center will replace the existing Grab Partner Center with expanded facilities, including:

  • A state-of-the-art road safety training and assessment area.
  • Enhanced spaces for onboarding and orientation programs for partners.
  • Dedicated upskilling areas tailored to the needs of both Grab and MOVE IT partners.
