The Green GSM ride-hailing app has quickly claimed the number one spot in the Travel & Local category on the Google Play Store Philippines, achieving this feat even before its official service launch on June 10. Developed by Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM), the app’s early success has set the tone for its rollout in Metro Manila.
In the first 48 hours post-launch, the Green GSM app logged tens of thousands of downloads. This strong initial response highlights growing interest in environmentally sustainable and tech-forward commuting options in the country.
Green GSM’s introduction is part of GSM’s broader efforts to scale up electric mobility across Southeast Asia. The service exclusively operates VinFast Nerio Green electric vehicles, all of which feature the Secure to Safe (S2S) active safety monitoring system, aimed at ensuring safe travel experiences for all passengers.
The launch has been well-received by commuters and drivers alike, reflecting a shift in Metro Manila’s transportation preferences. GSM Global CEO Nguyen Van Thanh stated, “Green GSM is more than a transportation service—it signals a movement toward clean, safe, and smart mobility. Our rapid climb to the top of app rankings shows the public’s growing alignment with our vision.”
The app itself is designed for intuitive use, enabling customers to book trips, track rides in real time, and access transparent fare details via in-app listings and onboard fare meters. The company also introduced a limited-time launch incentive: new users will receive 500 Green Points (worth PHP 500), redeemable on their first seven rides until August 31, 2025.
Green GSM’s entry into the Philippine market represents a key phase of GSM’s “Go Green Global” campaign, aimed at establishing higher transportation standards rooted in sustainability and innovation.
