Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) has officially launched Green GSM, the country’s first all-electric taxi service. This milestone marks GSM’s entry into its fourth international market—following Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia—and represents a key step in the company’s “Go Green Global” initiative to promote sustainable mobility worldwide.
The launch ceremony was held at Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City and was graced by prominent government officials and dignitaries, including Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vivencio Bringas Dizon, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick D. Go, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Teofilo E. Guadiz III, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, and H.E. Lai Thai Binh, Ambassador of Vietnam to the Philippines. Nearly 100 strategic partners from various sectors, including banking, energy, retail, transportation, and technology, also attended the event.
Green GSM will begin operating in 10 of the 16 cities and districts that make up Metro Manila, home to more than 13 million people. The service features an exclusive fleet of VinFast Nerio Green electric vehicles, offering passengers a quiet, smooth, and emissions-free ride.
The fleet’s distinctive cyan color—symbolizing a fusion of green for sustainability and blue for innovation—reflects the company’s commitment to a modern, eco-conscious lifestyle.
Green GSM aims to redefine urban transport by offering more than just mobility. Each ride represents a conscious step toward reducing air pollution, noise, and carbon emissions, while delivering a high-quality, future-ready commuting experience.
Designed to meet international service standards, Green GSM provides a premium five-star ride, with professional drivers trained in road safety, etiquette, and customer service. Vehicles are equipped with the Secure to Safe (S2S) monitoring system built on three pillars:
- Secure: Real-time monitoring for proactive risk management
- Safe: Enhanced passenger protection, especially for women, children, and the elderly
- Smart: AI-powered systems to improve safety, efficiency, and transparency
Fares are determined through in-vehicle meters and are clearly reflected on the Green GSM mobile app. Competitive pricing ensures that riders enjoy comfort, convenience, and cost-efficiency compared to conventional ride-hailing services.
Under the campaign theme “Hello Philippines: Move Forward the Green Way,” Green GSM envisions becoming a symbol of smart, sustainable urban living—where everyday commuting contributes to cleaner air and healthier communities.
Nguyễn Văn Thanh, Global CEO of GSM, stated:
“The Philippines marks a strategic chapter in our Go Green Global journey. Beyond expanding to a new market, our objective is to spark a shift toward cleaner, smarter, and more responsible mobility.”
Riders may book trips through the Green GSM app, available on the App Store and Google Play, by calling the hotline at 02-7777-8080, hailing a Green GSM taxi on the street, or boarding at designated public pick-up points throughout Metro Manila.
To mark the launch, Green GSM is offering a special promotion: 500 Green Points (equivalent to PHP 500) for new users upon registration and completion of their first ride. These points can be redeemed across the next seven trips. The offer is valid from June 10 to August 31, 2025.
Founded in Vietnam in March 2023, GSM has rapidly established itself as a pioneer in electric mobility in Southeast Asia. Its expansion into the Philippines not only highlights the global aspirations of Vietnamese enterprises, but also introduces a new regional benchmark for sustainable, smart, and socially responsible transportation.
