GWM officially enters the Philippine automotive market. Luxuriant Automotive Group, the authorized distributor of GWM vehicles in the country, also unveiled the brand’s initial Philippine lineup April 11, 2023 at Shangri-La The Fort.
The Haval H6 HEV, Haval Jolion, and GWM Cannon are the first models GWM will be pitting into the Philippine market. Sporting the latest technology, safety, and performance features, the new GWM models are seen as perfect choice for Filipinos who are looking for high-quality and reliable vehicles. Haval is China’s best-selling SUV brand, while the GWM Cannon, known in China as the Po’er, has been China’s largest-selling pickup for the last 25 years.
Haval H6 HEV is the hybrid version of the highly popular H6 compact SUV, with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine combined with a 130 kW Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, providing a maximum power output of 240 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque. It is the 3rd generation of the SUV. The H6 HEV offers superior fuel efficiency and significantly lower CO2 emissions, making it an ideal car for environmentally conscious customers. It also comes with advanced features such as GWM’s global High Intelligence Modular Architecture, Level 2 Autonomous Driving System, and advanced active and passive safety features.
The Haval H6 HEV is available in two variants: DHT Supreme and DHT Max variants, with an introductory price at PHP 1,883,000 and PHP 1,788,000 respectively. GWM aims to make high-value HEV models more accessible to the market. The Haval H6 HEV models are replete with safety and convenience features, not commonly found in the segment.
Haval Jolion, a subcompact SUV, can come with a hybrid powertrain, or a traditional internal combustion powertrain. The true hybrid variant comprises a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, and a 115 kW Dedicated hybrid transmission capable of producing a combined output of 186 HP and 375 Nm of Torque. The ICE variant, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.5L turbo-charged engine with an output of 141 HP and 220 Nm of torque. It is perfect for city driving and comes with advanced safety features, including a blind-spot monitoring system, making it an ideal car for young professionals and small families. It also comes with GWM’s global High Intelligence Modular Architecture and Level 2 Autonomous Driving System. For its suite of intelligent driving, and safety features, the Haval Jolion is suitable for the first-time SUV buyer. The Haval Jolion is available in four variants: HEV DHT Supreme, DCT Supreme, DCT Max, and DCT Plus, all carrying a very attractive introductory price of PHP 1,588,000, PHP 1,248,000, PHP 1,128,000, and PHP 998,000 respectively.
To provide its customers a blend of toughness and luxury, GWM created the GWM Cannon pickup. GWM Cannon is a reliable workhorse with a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that can deliver up to 161 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It has a spacious cargo bed, making it perfect for every entrepreneur’s utility use. It comes with advanced safety features, including hill-start assist and electronic stability control. Its luxurious interior features leather seats with diamond pattern stitching.
The GWM Cannon is available in three variants with 4×4 and 4×2 sub-variants with an introductory price that starts at PHP 998,000 and tops at PHP 1,498,000.
