Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 N Makes a Big Splash at Goodwood

Hyundai has just pulled the covers off the IONIQ 6 N at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and it’s a serious statement. This all-electric performance sedan shows just how far Hyundai N has come, building on everything they’ve learned from electric motorsport and their earlier high-performance EVs.

The IONIQ 6 N follows N’s signature formula: it’s fast through corners, track-ready when you want it, and still comfortable enough to drive every day. With updated suspension, improved gear-shift simulation, and more immersive sound and lighting features, it’s clear Hyundai wants you to feel the thrill, not just measure it.

The numbers tell the story: 650 PS, 770 Nm of torque, 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 257 km/h. There’s also a clever battery management system onboard that keeps the performance up during hard use, whether you’re doing hot laps or drag runs.

Design-wise, the IONIQ 6 N looks every bit the part. It’s fitted with a swan-neck spoiler, wider fenders, and a new color called Performance Blue Pearl. The aero isn’t just for show either. It helps keep the car planted at high speeds and in tight corners.

Underneath, there’s a redesigned chassis with advanced electronic suspension that adjusts in real-time. It’s built to handle the demands of track driving without beating you up on the way to work. The ride is smoother, the grip is better, and it stays stable even when you’re really pushing it.

Inside, Hyundai’s software takes things to another level. N Active Sound + gives you different engine-style sounds depending on your mood. N e-Shift simulates gear changes for a more connected feel. And there’s even ambient lighting that changes as you “shift,” adding to the excitement.

For track junkies, there’s N Track Manager—basically your personal data center for lap times, custom track layouts, and ghost car comparisons. You also get N Drift Optimizer, which lets you control drift settings like angle and spin. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, you can dial it in just how you like.

Hyundai’s also offering a lineup of N performance parts so you can tweak the car even more to your style, on the street or at the track.

Over at the Hyundai N booth at Goodwood, fans can check out the full lineup including the IONIQ 5 N, the TA Spec, and even drift and race-prepped versions of the IONIQ 6 N. Visitors can take part in a fun stamp tour and get access to a special grandstand near the Hillclimb start line, complete with giveaways and great views.

The big highlight? The “N Moment” on July 10. That’s when the full N fleet, including the new IONIQ 6 N, will take to the course in a synchronized run. It’s the kind of spectacle that shows Hyundai isn’t just serious about EVs—they’re having fun with them, too.
