Partner drivers are at the heart of inDrive’s ride-hailing platform, and the company is making sure their voices are heard. In a recent open forum held at inDrive’s Philippine headquarters, dozens of drivers came together to discuss ways to improve the app, maximize earnings, and enhance their overall experience on the road.
With inDrive’s APAC Regional Director Mark Tolley, Business Development Head Sofia Guinto, Driver Operations Head for the Philippines Vanessa Taqueban, and Country Government Relations Manager John Louie Balagot in attendance, the session provided a rare opportunity for drivers to speak directly with company leaders.
Better Earnings and Fair Pricing
A major concern raised by partner drivers was the need for a more dynamic pricing system, especially during peak hours. Many drivers suggested refining inDrive’s surge pricing to better reward them for working during rush hours, weekends, and holidays.
“We’re constantly testing and fine-tuning our surge pricing to find the right balance between affordability for passengers and fair earnings for drivers,” Guinto explained. “We also make sure drivers keep 90% of their income.”
inDrive is also helping drivers earn more through an innovative partnership with Coins.ph and Hivemapper, allowing them to install mapping devices in their vehicles and earn $HONEY tokens for contributing to global map updates. These earnings can be managed through Coins.ph wallets, providing an additional income stream for participating drivers.
Emergency Support and Safety Measures
During the discussion, drivers also requested stronger emergency support, including SOS plans, roadside assistance, and vehicle troubleshooting services. inDrive acknowledged these concerns and assured drivers that new partnerships are in the works to address them.
Currently, inDrive partner drivers have access to free quarterly vehicle troubleshooting training through a partnership with Toyota Philippines (Quezon Avenue branch). Meanwhile, RideSecure Car Care Center offers an exclusive insurance package with rates 10-16% lower than the market average, helping drivers stay protected on the road.
A Community That Cares
For many drivers, inDrive is more than just an app—it’s a platform that listens and values their role. Driver Sherwin Gaspar shared how inDrive has transformed his work-life balance.
“The best part is having control over my schedule while still earning well. I can pick up my kids from school and attend family events without worrying about office restrictions,” Gaspar said.
Tolley echoed this sentiment, expressing his appreciation for the drivers who have contributed to inDrive’s success since its relaunch in June 2024. “Your dedication and hard work have driven our growth. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to expanding together,” he stated.
As inDrive continues to roll out new initiatives, its commitment to partner drivers remains stronger than ever. To stay updated on the latest developments, visit www.inDrive.com.
