Nestlé Philippines, the world’s largest food and beverage company, has partnered with Mober, a leader in green logistics services in the Philippines, to integrate electric vehicles (EVs) into its mid- and last-mile delivery operations. This collaboration supports Nestlé’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 while advancing its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.
Under the partnership, Mober will deploy electric trucks (e-trucks) to handle Nestlé Philippines’ logistics needs across Metro Manila.
To ensure efficient and sustainable operations, Mober has installed a 60 kWh EV charging station powered entirely by renewable electricity at Nestlé Philippines’ Greater Manila Area (GMA) Distribution Center in Meycauayan, Bulacan. This setup enables Nestlé’s EV fleet to operate exclusively on renewable energy when charged at GMADC, furthering its sustainability goals. Unlike EVs charged using grid electricity, which emit approximately 0.68 kg of CO₂ per kWh, vehicles charged with renewable electricity produce zero emissions, setting a new benchmark for eco-friendly logistics.
“At Mober, we believe in taking bold steps to reduce carbon emissions, and we are proud to support Nestlé in its journey toward achieving its 2050 net-zero targets,” said Dennis Ng, CEO of Mober. “With our eight electric trucks currently serving Nestlé Philippines, we are helping them minimize their carbon footprint while setting a strong example for the FMCG industry.”
Nestlé Philippines has already achieved 100% renewable electricity across all its sites—a milestone reached two years ahead of schedule. The company remains steadfast in its sustainability commitments, aiming to halve its greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050. By advancing its Net Zero Roadmap, Nestlé underscores its dedication to sustainable operations, responsible sourcing, and collaborative innovation throughout its value chain.
“Integrating cargo EVs into our distribution fleet is a key step in reducing the carbon emissions of our supply chain,” said Anderson Martins, Head of Supply Chain and Procurement at Nestlé Philippines. “We want our consumers to enjoy their favorite Nestlé products, knowing they were produced and delivered using 100% renewable electricity. This initiative aligns with Nestlé’s global vision of a net-zero future and reflects our commitment to fostering positive impacts on society and the planet.”
Looking ahead, Nestlé Philippines plans to expand its EV-powered deliveries to more cities nationwide in collaboration with Mober.
Mober’s innovative partnership model allows businesses like Nestlé Philippines to seamlessly integrate sustainability into their supply chains without incurring capital expenditures (CapEx) or upfront costs. This approach enables companies to meet their ESG targets while enhancing operational efficiency, paving the way for a greener future in logistics.
