MOVE IT, a homegrown motorcycle taxi company, is reinforcing its commitment to road safety through an ongoing collaboration with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). As part of this initiative, MOVE IT has donated brand-new helmets to the agency’s Motorcycle Riding Academy (MRA), supporting MMDA’s mission to make two-wheel training courses more accessible to both current and aspiring motorcycle riders.
The MRA provides free riding training sessions conducted by expert instructors, with a curriculum tailored for both beginners and experienced riders. Since participants are required to bring their own protective gear, MOVE IT’s helmet donation helps lower barriers to entry, ensuring that more individuals can benefit from the academy’s programs.
This initiative marks another milestone in the long-standing partnership between MOVE IT and MMDA. Their collaboration has previously included MMDA-facilitated road safety courses for MOVE IT’s on-ground training program and its in-app learning platform, the MOVE IT Academy. Additionally, MOVE IT has contributed essential equipment such as agility cones, rider vests, and tents to enhance the MRA’s training facilities.
During a recent inspection, officials from MOVE IT and MMDA reviewed the newly donated helmets, which are designated for use in the MRA’s two-wheel riding courses.
MOVE IT General Manager Wayne Jacinto highlighted the importance of training and education as the community of two-wheel motorists continues to grow. “Access to educational programs designed to promote safety-focused riding is crucial for all two-wheel motorists, whether private riders or motorcycle taxi service providers,” Jacinto emphasized. “MOVE IT fully supports initiatives like the MRA because road safety is a shared responsibility among all transport stakeholders. It is essential for platforms, government agencies, and riders alike to work together in ensuring safer roads every day.”

MMDA Chairman Romando Artes expressed gratitude for MOVE IT’s continuous support in promoting road safety across Metro Manila’s thoroughfares. “The MMDA welcomes partnerships with MOVE IT and other private sector players in the transport industry. A unified commitment to road safety is key to fostering discipline and a safety-first mindset on our roads. This initiative is just one of many that MMDA and MOVE IT will undertake this year to enhance road safety awareness and training.”
