In line with its commitment to environmental sustainability, Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), joined forces with Maynilad Water Services Inc. and Bantay Gubat of Ipo Watershed in a tree-planting initiative on September 27, 2024.
The event, titled “Plant for Life,” focused on restoring the Ipo Watershed in Bulacan, a critical source of water for Metro Manila and Cavite. Employees and volunteers from MPT South and Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) collectively planted 800 native tree seedlings as part of Maynilad’s larger goal to plant 220,000 trees across 660 hectares this year.
Arlette V. Capistrano, Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management of MPT South, highlighted the importance of collaboration in these initiatives, saying, “It is an honor to contribute to protecting our environment alongside our partners from LRMC. Together, we can achieve more for the benefit of future generations.”
MPT South’s participation underscores its long-term commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability and encouraging communities to engage in protecting natural resources.
MPT South, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), operates key toll roads such as CALAX and CAVITEX, and is part of a broader portfolio that includes NLEX, SCTEX, and CCLEX.
