Nissan Unveils Upcoming All-New 2026 LEAF

Nissan is making headlines once again, this time with the reveal of what appears to be the all-new 2026 LEAF. The company recently released a set of images featuring a pre-production model of its popular compact EV, hinting at what’s to come. Nissan says the full-production version is expected to debut later this year.

Design-wise, the 2026 LEAF takes on a sleeker, more aerodynamic form. From its sharply styled front end and fluid silhouette to a range of eye-catching design elements, the next-generation LEAF emerges as one of the more visually dynamic electric vehicles in its segment. But its looks are just the beginning—there’s more to this compact electric crossover than meets the eye.

At the heart of the 2026 LEAF is a strong focus on range and fast-charging performance. Powering the vehicle is a new 75-kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack, paired with a 214-horsepower electric motor. Nissan claims that with a Level 3 charger, the LEAF can charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes—about the time it takes to grab a quick meal at a fast-food stop.

Even more impressive is the estimated range. A full charge is said to deliver up to 303 miles (roughly 483 kilometers) of driving. To put that in perspective, that’s enough to travel from Manila to Lucena City in Quezon Province and back, with enough charge left for a few quick detours. Of course, range may vary depending on traffic, driving habits, terrain, and weather.

For those seeking a more affordable option, Nissan has confirmed that a variant with a 52-kWh battery and a 174-horsepower motor will also be available, though it will arrive after the initial launch.

Inside, the 2026 LEAF offers a tech-forward cabin featuring a dual-screen infotainment system, available in 12.3-inch or 14.3-inch sizes depending on the trim level. Higher-spec variants equipped with the larger screen will also feature a premium Bose audio system for a more refined listening experience.

Here in the Philippines, Nissan continues to push forward with its Nissan Intelligent Mobility campaign, highlighting its commitment to advanced safety features, electrification, connectivity, and smart driving technologies. The current-generation LEAF is among the key models under this initiative.

While the local EV market is still evolving, there’s optimism that the all-new 2026 LEAF could help shift perspectives once it arrives, possibly next year or if Nissan Philippines finds the right moment to bring it in.
