NKS Solar One lights up the road for “Hari ng Kalsada” winner with brand new motorcycle

NKS Solar One demonstrated strong community involvement by awarding a brand-new motorcycle to the winner of Hari ng Kalsada on September 9, emphasizing their commitment to corporate social responsibility. The event, part of the Sambalilo Festival in Cavinti, Laguna, celebrated the skills of local drivers, with this year’s competition culminating in a victory for John Michael Gordula, a tricycle driver and operator from Brgy. Mahipon-Lumot.

Gordula expressed his gratitude for the prize, seeing it as more than just a reward but as encouragement to continue his journey on the road. He also thanked the Cavinti LGU for hosting the event, which he viewed as a source of local inspiration and empowerment.

Jason Gavina, Head of Community Relations and Marketing at Blueleaf Energy Philippines, noted that the prize symbolizes recognition of the dedication and skills of local tricycle drivers. He also acknowledged the Cavinti LGU’s role in organizing the event, which celebrates local talent.

As the 250 MW floating solar project developed by Blueleaf Energy Philippines and NKS Energy Utilities, NKS Solar One is set to be the country’s first utility-scale floating solar project on Lakes Caliraya and Lumot in Laguna. Blueleaf Energy Philippines, a Macquarie Capital portfolio company, actively engages in community-focused initiatives, including projects in health, education, livelihood, environment, and tourism, in collaboration with its local partners.
