NLEX, CRBC Partner for NLEX–C5 Northlink Segment Expansion

NLEX Corporation has signed an agreement with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) to construct the NLEX–C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 Section 1A Project. The P2.2-billion elevated expressway will span from Mindanao Avenue to Quirino Highway, enhancing connectivity in northern Metro Manila.

The contract signing was attended by key representatives from both organizations, including Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) Head for Supply Chain Management Group Ignacio Dela Cruz, NLEX Corporation Officer-in-Charge and Chief Finance Officer Maria Theresa Wells, MPTC President and COO Arrey Perez, CRBC General Manager Ren Xiaopeng, and CRBC Deputy General Manager and OIC for Marketing, Investment, and HR Zhang Lei.

This new expressway segment aims to extend the NLEX Mindanao toll plaza to Quirino Highway in Novaliches via an all-weather elevated roadway crossing the Tullahan River in Quezon City. Once completed, it will alleviate daily congestion along Mindanao Avenue and Quirino Highway, providing a seamless route for motorists traveling to and from Novaliches.

“The Metro Pacific Group remains committed to driving infrastructure development across the Philippines, supporting nation-building through a comprehensive tollway network. The NLEX–C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 Section 1A will offer 24/7 access for all vehicle classes, ensuring smoother and more efficient travel across northern Metro Manila,” said MPTC President and COO Arrey Perez.

“Together with our dedicated team, contractor, and government partners, we are fully committed to accelerating the construction of this vital expressway, targeting completion by the first quarter of 2026,” he added.

The entire NLEX–C5 Northlink Project will stretch 11.3 kilometers from Mindanao Avenue to C5/C.P. Garcia near Katipunan Avenue. This infrastructure will significantly benefit motorists, particularly the logistics sector, by serving as a 24/7 alternative route for trucks. Beyond improving mobility for goods, services, and people, the project is expected to generate employment during construction and operation while fostering new business opportunities.

NLEX Corporation is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).
