The new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS has been named the 2025 World Performance Car by a jury of 96 automotive journalists representing 30 countries. The recognition marks Porsche’s eighth win in this category at the World Car Awards and reinforces its global leadership in high-performance vehicle innovation.
Set to arrive in the Philippines soon, the new 911 Carrera GTS brings a cutting-edge hybrid system to Porsche’s iconic sports car line. The T-Hybrid technology—central to the model’s award-winning performance—combines a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine with two electric motors. One motor is built into the turbocharger to eliminate lag and recover energy, while the second motor, located within the eight-speed PDK gearbox, enhances torque delivery and recuperates up to 40 kilowatts during deceleration.
Together, these systems generate a total of 541 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque, powering the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds. The top speed is rated at 312 km/h. Despite the integration of electrified components, the vehicle retains the same weight as its predecessor, ensuring the signature handling and dynamic responsiveness of the 911 remains intact.
The interior of the new 911 Carrera GTS merges Porsche’s classic design language with new digital features. The driver-centric layout places essential controls within easy reach of the steering wheel, including a mode selector, a redesigned assistance lever, and, for the first time in the 911, a start button. A 12.6-inch digital cluster offers extensive customization with up to seven display modes, including a Classic theme inspired by Porsche’s traditional analog layout.
Now celebrating its 21st year, the World Car Awards remains one of the most respected honors in the automotive industry. Porsche’s continued success—now totaling nine World Car Awards overall—demonstrates its unwavering dedication to delivering thrilling performance through technological advancement and motorsport expertise.
