IsuzuPH Supports Mangrove Restoration and Education in Alaminos

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has reinforced its commitment to sustainability and community welfare through the donation of ₱300,000 to the City Government of Alaminos, through its Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), to support mangrove rehabilitation efforts.

This contribution supports the preservation and restoration of coastal mangrove ecosystems that play a critical role in shoreline protection, biodiversity support, and climate change mitigation. IPC has been actively engaged with Alaminos since 2005, when it first adopted a coastal area as part of its long-term environmental advocacy.

“Restoring mangrove forests is one way we can give back to the communities that support us. Our responsibility extends beyond the automotive industry—we aim to support initiatives that promote lasting environmental and social progress,” said IPC Executive Vice President Yasuhiko Oyama.

In a parallel initiative, IPC also provided educational support to Longos Elementary School, a public school serving one of the city’s most underserved and geographically isolated communities. A total of 140 students received new backpacks, notebooks, and basic school supplies. Additionally, two printers with ink refills were donated to assist teachers and administrators with day-to-day learning and school operations.

Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste welcomed IPC’s contributions, noting the company’s enduring partnership with the city. “Isuzu Philippines continues to be a trusted ally in our development journey. Their support for both environmental protection and education sends a strong message about the value of meaningful partnerships.”

These projects reflect IPC’s corporate social responsibility goals and support broader global efforts such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically those concerning education, climate action, and marine life preservation. Through these initiatives, IPC demonstrates its commitment to national progress grounded in sustainability and inclusivity.
