CAMPI Marks Three Decades of Shaping Philippine Automotive Progress

The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) marked its 30th anniversary with a gala celebration at the Grand Hyatt Manila, Taguig City. The event, themed “30 Years and Beyond: Together, Driving the Future of Mobility,” brought together national leaders, industry representatives, and the association’s 28 member companies to recognize the achievements of the past and lay out a clear direction for the future.

Department of Transportation Secretary Vicencio “Vince” Dizon was the event’s guest of honor, affirming government support for continued partnership with the automotive sector in advancing mobility solutions nationwide.

“CAMPI’s three decades of work have helped shape the Philippine automotive landscape, from local manufacturing to nationwide vehicle distribution,” said Chairman Hon. Jose Chaves Alvarez. “These gains were made possible through close collaboration within the industry and with public sector partners. We now stand ready to take on the next chapter of change.”

Alvarez further stated, “We are not only celebrating history—we are setting our course for tomorrow’s mobility. CAMPI remains united in building solutions that serve both the economy and the people.”

Strategic Pillars for a Future-Ready Industry

CAMPI’s roadmap moving forward is guided by four central focus areas designed to address current trends and future demands:

  • Technology & Innovation – Supporting new technologies such as electric mobility, connected systems, and autonomous vehicles to enhance transport efficiency and user experience.
  • Sustainability – Promoting environmentally conscious policies, energy-efficient practices, and alternative energy sources in line with global carbon neutrality goals.
  • Road Safety – Improving safety standards and aligning with international benchmarks to create safer roads for all.
  • Industry Development – Enhancing regional competitiveness, investing in workforce skills, and preparing the sector for future global integration.

“These pillars are the foundation of our future,” said CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez. “They reflect our shared responsibility to strengthen the industry and lead its continued growth through collaboration, innovation, and commitment to public service.”
