Grab Philippines and MOVE IT are prioritizing the health and wellness of their driver, delivery, and rider-partners through their “Health & Wheelness Driver Care Event,” a comprehensive initiative that catered to over 4,000 partners and their families. The event featured expert-led workshops and wellness services, offering a complete approach to well-being.
Representatives from the MMDA, Philippine Red Cross (PRC), First Metro Asset Management, and Pag-IBIG spoke on crucial topics such as nutrition, road safety, social protection, and financial literacy, helping attendees gain a deeper understanding of how to balance their professional and personal health. Partners also received free medical check-ups, dental services, and eye exams. In partnership with Generika Pharmacy, Grab and MOVE IT distributed essential health items, including vitamins and supplements. Notably, 700 participants were provided with free customized dentures.
In support of their partners’ long-term welfare, Grab and MOVE IT collaborated with Pag-IBIG and PhilHealth, facilitating an efficient process for social protection membership through on-site booths where partners could apply for benefits and receive new IDs.
CJ Lacsican, Grab Philippines Head of Cities and Business Operations, emphasized the importance of self-care for the platform’s partners, saying, “Our driver- and rider-partners work tirelessly, but often at the expense of their own health. We are dedicated to ensuring that they have the support they need to prioritize their well-being.”
In addition to health services, the event offered a range of self-care treatments, such as free haircuts, massages, and nail care services. For partners who couldn’t attend in person, Grab and MOVE IT hosted online seminars featuring prominent speakers from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), Department of Agriculture, and Shell Philippines, focusing on health and vehicle care tips.
Moreover, vehicle maintenance support was available on-site, with Shell and Mechanigo.Ph offering complimentary oil changes for driver-partners.
The platforms’ dedication to wellness also includes leveraging technology to promote healthier habits. Grab’s “Fatigue Nudge” feature reminds driver-partners to rest after long hours, ensuring they stay safe on the road. Additionally, GrabAcademy and Ka-MOVE IT Academy provide accessible courses on physical health, mental wellness, and financial management, helping partners make informed decisions about their well-being.
