HyundaiPH Joins Hands with Ramon Aboitiz Foundation for “Dream Green” Initiative

Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) is proud to announce its partnership with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) for the “Dream Green” project, a significant environmental initiative aiming to plant 5,000 mangroves in Brgy. Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas, by the close of 2024. This project reflects Hyundai’s global commitment to “Progress for Humanity,” emphasizing the company’s desire to drive positive change in both society and the environment, extending beyond its sustainable vehicle lineup.

On November 29, a dedicated team of HMPH employees joined forces with RAFI and the Samahan ng mga Mandaragat sa Sulok (SAMLOK) to kick off the project by planting the initial batch of mangroves. “Dream Green” serves as a local manifestation of Hyundai’s worldwide effort, where subsidiaries from around the world contribute to the “IONIQ Forest” campaign, inspired by the IONIQ brand’s mission to nurture a cleaner and sustainable way of living.

Key representatives at the event included HMPH President Mr. Jiho Son, Managing Director Mr. Cecil Capacete, and Chief Financial Officer Mr. Hongshik Chin. They were joined by RAFI leaders Ms. Amaya Cristina A. Fansler, CEO and President, and Ms. Mariefe del Mundo, Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager. The event also welcomed Honorable Edgar J. Johnson, Chairman of Brgy. Lumaniag, along with delegates from the Provincial and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Offices.

Mr. Jiho Son, HMPH President, stated, “Today’s initiative is a clear demonstration of how our commitment transcends the automotive industry. We bear a strong responsibility to cultivate a sustainable outlook for future generations. This partnership with RAFI is a fundamental step toward our goal of planting 5,000 mangroves as part of a wider objective to plant 55,000 trees by 2028.”
