JAECOO Philippines proudly announces that its first-ever hybrid SUV, the J7 SHS, has received a five-star safety rating from the Euro NCAP—cementing its reputation as one of the safest new energy vehicles entering the market today. This latest accolade follows the J7 SHS’ verified extended range test conducted by the Automobile Association Philippines earlier this year.
Designed with modern drivers in mind, the J7 SHS was evaluated on its performance in four safety pillars: adult and child occupant protection, pedestrian safety, and driver assist technologies. The hybrid SUV earned standout marks—scoring 81% in adult protection and 80% across the remaining categories.
Euro NCAP testers praised the J7 SHS for its robust structural integrity and comprehensive tech suite. Notable highlights include an advanced autonomous emergency braking system, intelligent lane-keeping assist, and an active speed recognition feature. The vehicle is also equipped with next-generation safety tools such as a 360° HD panoramic camera with under-chassis view, the DMS Driver Monitoring System, and Bosch’s lightning-fast IPB braking system—all working together to create a safer drive from every angle. Six airbags are also strategically positioned to maximize protection in the event of a crash.

Under the hood, the J7 SHS pairs a 201-hp electric motor with a fifth-generation 1.5L turbocharged hybrid engine and an 18.3 kWh lithium-ion battery. This setup allows smooth transitions between four driving modes—Full Electric, Series Hybrid, Parallel Hybrid, and Regenerative—adapting seamlessly to various terrains and driving needs.
During its AAP range test, the J7 SHS logged an impressive 1,488.8 kilometers on a single charge and full tank—well over its published range of 1,200 km. In electric-only mode, it ran up to 106 kilometers, giving drivers the flexibility to go green on long drives.
The J7 SHS turned heads at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show and will be showcased again at the upcoming OMODA and JAECOO Global Conference in China on April 23. The first batch of units will arrive in the Philippines by late May, with Comfort and Premium variants available for under Php 1.7 million.
