Modena Motorsports Inc., the official importer and distributor of Maserati in the Philippines, has formally entered the electric vehicle space with the launch of the brand’s first fully electric models—the GranCabrio Folgore and Grecale Folgore. The milestone event, held recently at the Maserati Manila showroom, marked a bold step forward in the marque’s global electrification strategy and underscored its commitment to blending Italian craftsmanship with advanced EV technology.
The exclusive unveiling was attended by key media and VIP guests, highlighting Maserati’s transition into the electric age without compromising its heritage of performance, design, and luxury.
“This isn’t just the unveiling of new models,” said Sam Verzosa, President of Modena Motorsports Inc. “This is the ignition of a new mindset—where electrification is not a trend, but the future. And that future is now here. Maserati leads that vision by combining innovation, sustainability, and unmistakable Italian soul.”
The Folgore Line: Maserati’s Vision of High-Performance Electrification
“Folgore,” which translates to “lightning” in Italian, represents Maserati’s new range of high-performance electric vehicles. The name is fitting for the two models introduced at the event—each symbolizing a new direction for the luxury brand.
GranCabrio Folgore
Touted as the world’s first all-electric luxury convertible, the GranCabrio Folgore features an 800V electrical architecture and a tri-motor powertrain capable of delivering up to 761 horsepower and 1,350 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and boasts a top speed of 290 km/h. It seats four and comes with a fully retractable soft-top that opens in 14 seconds—even while driving—offering a silent yet exhilarating open-air driving experience.
Grecale Folgore
The Grecale Folgore marks Maserati’s first foray into the all-electric SUV segment. It is powered by dual electric motors and a 105 kWh battery, generating 410 kW and 820 Nm of torque. Designed for everyday practicality and performance, the Grecale Folgore integrates Maserati’s signature luxury with sustainable materials such as ECONYL (recycled nylon) and offers advanced digital connectivity. Its fast-charging capability and refined interior underscore the brand’s seamless transition into electric mobility.
Both models are styled in Maserati’s signature Rame Folgore copper finish and incorporate aerodynamic enhancements that reflect the Folgore identity.
Electrification with a Nationwide Vision
The Folgore debut in Manila signals the beginning of a broader initiative to expand Maserati’s electric vehicle presence across the country. Modena Motorsports plans to introduce the limited-run GranTurismo Folgore 110° Anniversario Edition later this year, while also conducting regional roadshows and test-drive events to bring the Folgore experience directly to clients.
“From Manila to the provinces, we’re bringing Folgore to our clients,” Verzosa shared. “If they can’t come to the cars, we’ll bring the cars to them.”
Celebrating a New Chapter
The event concluded with a ceremonial toast led by Maserati Southeast Asia Pacific Regional Director Wallace Wong, Modena Motorsports President Sam Verzosa, and General Manager Mody Llamas. Together, they raised their glasses to mark the beginning of a new era for Maserati in the Philippines.
“To innovation. To bold beginnings. And to a future where luxury meets electricity—To Folgore,” they declared.
With the local arrival of the GranCabrio Folgore and Grecale Folgore, Maserati Philippines reaffirms its position at the forefront of premium electrified mobility—signaling a future driven by both passion and progress.
