MOVE IT celebrated the resilience and dedication of its 16 top-performing rider-partners during the MOVE IT Day 2024 event at the PhilSports Arena. These rider-partners, honored as this year’s Papugay Awardees, represent the best of MOVE IT’s values of safety, service, and integrity.
The event, attended by thousands of rider-partners and their families, was a festive day featuring games, raffles, entertainment, and free motorcycle maintenance. At its heart, however, was the Papugay Awards, a ceremony honoring exceptional riders who excelled in booking completion, passenger ratings, and safe driving.

The awards spotlighted inspiring stories:
- Cyrus Panopio, an “Alamat” rider, balances his time between riding and running a small business to support his family and fund his children’s education. The flexibility of MOVE IT allows him to stay present for his family.
- Benjie Boladas Bechayda, who left a demanding job as a security guard, found financial freedom as a full-time moto taxi rider. His improved income lets him focus on building a home for his family.
- Merry Ann Paz, a single mother of two, overcame her fears of riding and flourished with MOVE IT’s support through training and safety tools, proving that women can thrive in the industry.
- Merlani Lacson, a former ambulance driver, transitioned to a fulfilling role as a rider-partner, ensuring financial stability while caring for her teenage children.

MOVE IT General Manager Wayne Jacinto expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all rider-partners: “Your hard work ensures Filipino commuters reach their destinations safely every day. You are the reason MOVE IT continues to thrive, and we are honored to support you in achieving your dreams. Maraming salamat sa inyong dedikasyon.”
