Sunshine Television (STV) has officially released the results of the 2024-2025 Auto Focus Media’s Choice Awards (AFMCA), marking the 17th edition of this prestigious annual recognition program for the local automotive industry. Established in 2008, the AFMCA continues to highlight vehicles that excel in design, performance, safety, and overall value.
The awards aim to acknowledge the industry’s ongoing efforts to provide motorists with top-tier features, advanced styling, and superior driving experiences. A distinguished panel of motoring media professionals convened in December to select winners across four key categories: Design, Engine Performance, Safety Features, and Value-for-Money. To ensure credibility, the Awards Committee applied a rationalized majority rule, requiring a minimum of 33.3% of votes for a model to qualify as an awardee across 12 standard and 10 premium/luxury classifications.
STV President Ray Louis “Wee” Gamboa reflected on the evolving automotive landscape:
“The past two years have been remarkable for the car industry. We’ve seen new brands, the growing presence of hybrid and electric vehicles, and cutting-edge onboard technology enhancing connectivity and travel experiences. With such an extensive range of choices, we believe the expert selections of the motoring media, as reflected in the AFMCA results, will help guide car buyers toward informed decisions.”
