A bold new chapter in public service and sustainable mobility begins as Valenzuela City becomes the first local government unit in the Philippines to operate the largest fleet of electric patrol vehicles. In a ceremonial turnover, BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility delivered 41 BYD Dolphin electric vehicles to the City Government, reinforcing a shared vision for cleaner, smarter communities.
This landmark deployment goes hand in hand with infrastructure improvements led by Greenstrum, ACMobility’s EV charging solutions arm. A network of 15 AC chargers has been installed across 12 locations within Valenzuela to support seamless operation of the fleet. In addition, a 60 kW DC fast charger has been installed at the Alert Station, the first in a series of public chargers that will be made available via the Evro app.
“More than a handover of vehicles, this is a handover of responsibility—to move forward with sustainability and innovation at the core of governance,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “These EVs aren’t just patrol cars; they’re catalysts for change.”
Of the 41 BYD Dolphin EVs, 35 are now in service with the Valenzuela City Police for patrol duties, while five support various city offices, and one serves as a first responder unit. Each vehicle offers an all-electric range of up to 405 kilometers, powered by BYD’s 44.9 kWh Blade Battery and 95 PS motor. With rapid charging capability, the Dolphins are equipped to meet the demands of urban policing and emergency response, and are enhanced with full law enforcement kits.

“This is just the beginning,” declared Mayor Wes Gatchalian. “With our growing network of chargers placed strategically along major routes such as NLEX, MacArthur Highway, and Mindanao Avenue, we are paving the way for an accessible, inclusive electric mobility ecosystem for all.”
