Electric dreams took center stage at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show, where Vietnamese automaker VinFast made its highly anticipated debut with the launch of its VF 6 subcompact SUV. More than just another EV on display, the VF 6 marked the start of VinFast’s bold effort to win over Filipino drivers—offering more than cars, but solutions.
As the MIAS broke records with 170,900 attendees, VinFast wasted no time making its presence felt. The VF 6 joins the growing lineup that already includes the VF 3, VF 5, VF 7, and VF 9. Compact yet tech-packed, the VF 6 starts at PHP 1.419 million (Eco) and PHP 1.610 million (Plus), bundled with a class-leading seven-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty.
Visitors were quick to take notice. Professional athlete Prince Rivero gave the VF 6 a test drive and praised its responsive acceleration and practicality as a family starter car. “In a country where it’s always hot and gas is pricey, this is just what we need,” he shared.
Flight attendant Aila Panganiban, eyeing the VF 6 and VF 7’s nearly 500-kilometer range (NEDC), highlighted VinFast’s design and pricing. “They look better than a lot of cars here—and they’re affordable.”
But VinFast wasn’t just there to show off its latest EV. It came to address the real hurdles keeping many from making the switch. The brand introduced a three-part strategy aimed at making electric vehicle ownership more accessible and sustainable in the Philippines:
- Free Charging Until 2027: VinFast is rolling out free public charging across its stations for the next two years. This is part of a broader push with global partner V-GREEN to build 15,000 charging ports this year alone—massively expanding from the Philippines’ current 900+ stations.
- Guaranteed Resale Value: To ease doubts about long-term value, VinFast now offers a buyback program of up to 90% of the vehicle’s original price, depending on age and condition—covering the full lineup, not just premium models.
- Flexible Financing: Partnering with major banks like BDO and EastWest, VinFast aims to make ownership easier through better financing terms and lower entry costs.

Add to that an aggressive retail expansion—over 60 new showrooms are planned for 2025—and it’s clear VinFast means business. For those on the fence about EVs, the brand is making the decision easier by tackling cost, convenience, and confidence all at once.
VinFast’s MIAS debut made one thing clear: the EV revolution in the Philippines isn’t coming—it’s already here. And with its practical offerings and smart ownership solutions, VinFast is betting it can turn curiosity into commitment.
