GWM (Great Wall Motor) entered the Philippine market in mid-2023 under the Luxuriant Automotive Group, Inc. (LAGI). In just over a year, the Chinese automaker has steadily worked its way up the industry ladder, recently recording its best-ever monthly sales performance.
GWM Philippines ended July 2025 with a 22% jump in sales compared to the previous month. While no specific figures were disclosed, the company credited its achievement to competitive pricing, ongoing promos, an expanding dealer network, and a growing lineup of models.
Its local portfolio now includes the Ora small electric city car, the Haval Jolion and Haval H6 hybrids, the Tank 300 SUV, and the Cannon pickup truck—which recently proved its capability on a purpose-built drift track in Pampanga.
To sustain its momentum, GWM Philippines confirmed that pricing for the Cannon lineup will remain unchanged despite recent pickup truck price hikes caused by excise tax adjustments. This means the GWM Cannon Lux+ 4×4 AT and Cannon SLux+ 4×4 AT will still be priced at P1.48 million and P1.68 million, respectively, with an all-in low downpayment option starting at P58,000.

“This milestone is more than just a number. It’s a clear signal that Filipino consumers are recognizing the value and potential GWM has to offer in terms of quality, performance, and value,” said Dax Avenido, GWM Philippines’ Brand Head and Marketing Director. He added that the company takes pride in its entire workforce for this accomplishment, noting that it is only the beginning of bigger things ahead.
GWM Philippines also hinted at a busy remainder of the year, with plans that include new product launches, roadshows, and lifestyle events to keep its growth going strong.
